JEHAN LOZA
Jehan Loza is a writer and sociologist whose work explores identity, trauma, and the unstable boundaries of belonging in contemporary Australia. Her writing moves between fiction and public essays, tracing how power, identity, and nationhood are lived and contested in everyday life - within families, communities, and intimate relationships.
She has published academic research across areas including community life and social collaboration, and her recent public writing has appeared in ABC Religion & Ethics.

She holds a PhD in Australian Studies. Her most recently completed novel, SAMI was longlisted for the Richell Prize for Emerging Writers (2025). Her debut novel, Tariq’s Daughter, which serves as a prequel to SAMI, was also longlisted for the Richell Prize in 2024.

She is currently working on a psychological thriller that continues her exploration of identity and belonging.
